Default soft clutch pedal

2000 mazda b3000 w/214,000 miles

few month ago my pedal started getting really soft to point i can't clutch anymore.

i remove the line from the transmission to check if the master or slave. the pedal is hard now. guess the master is solid.

once i attached the line back to the transmission, soft again.

checked out and no leaks, reservoir is full. bleed the slave and some what works fine again.

now the pedal is feeling soft and sometimes hard again to clutch again after a month of driving.

what ya think? fail slave? my friend said since im at it. might as well replace the clutch too.

Mine is doing the same thing

----------

looking under the trans I see it is oily. I am assuming it came from the slave as the clutch failed to engage suddenly. seeing the cost of paying a mechanic i'll do it myself.

Could be the slave or master cylinder. Look at both, the slave being in the inside of the transmission.

changed slave cylinder. tough job. definitely get help stapping the trans. also when you disassemble take note of what bolts go where, there are 3 different lengths, truck is back on the road. also be careful of what slave you buy. oreillys has a good one. do not buy the plastic one with no dust cover or you will be changing it again in a year. watch jennies garage video on you tube.
