Default 4r44e transmission Problem

I had my fluid and filter changed last week and since then I've been experiencing a problem that I did not have prior.

Flashing O/D light: Code P0733 - Gear 3 Incorrect Ratio

Symptoms: Starting from a stop, if I wait for the truck to shift on its own from 1st to 2nd, it will rev very high and generally won't shift until I let off of the gas. The shift is hard and is then accompanied by the flashing O/D light. The truck then continues to operate normally through the remainder of the gears shifting smoothly and without issue. If I turn off the ignition while rolling and then turn it back on, nothing changes except that the O/D light goes out and doesn't come back on as the truck shifts through gears (so only the shift from 1st to 2nd activates the light). Additionally, if on the initial roll from a stop I let off the gas around 3000 rpm, the truck shifts to 2nd without issue and will run through gears without issue and the light never comes on.

The shop that did the fluid and filter change recommended a transmission shop - all they did was read the code and say I needed a rebuild. the code they gave me matched the one I got with my own scanner. In my opinion the symptoms don't match the diagnosis by the shop.

I think I've provided all of the info I have, does anyone have any ideas on options for a repair?

Just an update. After exploring all of the options I had, I took the truck to the local Ford dealership. They dropped the pan again and looked around and didn't see anything. They reflushed the system and put it back together. The truck rubs great with no problems. Shifts smoothly through all gears. I put it through the ringer to see if I could duplicate the problem, but I couldn't. It's a Ford Ranger miracle.

hi i have a 2000 6 cylinder and had the transmission changed out with a 1999 ranger sport but think the tranny was a 1997 ,a little confusing ,but it was all figured out later, the problem is that one sensor on the top of tranny was not plugged in because no place for it and now o/d is flashing and tranny shifts hard from first to second, can this sensor be by passed or jumped to correct problem, thanks jim
