my goal is to get the trans rebuilt a new clutch and all the rust off by winter but I'm having trouble finding a rebuild kit for my trans i looked and all i can find is this

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ford-M5R1-M5...ZUovbE&vxp=mtr

but i don't think it will work with my truck. so if any one else that's had this same issue can point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated.

Why do you think you need your transmission rebuilt?

hey, have you removed your transmission? I don't mean to scare you but the hardest thing will be to remove the transmission from the ranger only because of the darn y-pipe. So take a look at your Y pipe. I'm confident the rebuild is easy since it's a manual transmission. Important thing is to make sure the rebuild kit is for the correct transmission, in this case it's the HD transmission.

Also, any chance I could buy those sweet Alcoa wheels on your pickup?

unfortunately no I don't. I've been trying for the last 2 weeks and no luck so i think i might just cut the studs.

and no i don't think I can part with my rims just yet. maybe if I ever upgrade the rims on my other truck I'll let you have my extra set

The problem isn't within transmission, it's the slave cylinder most likely, especially since it has 200k on it. The M5's aren't exactly known for "wearing out"

i think you might be right but that would be a best case scenario and i was preparing for the worst so i was attempting to source and price a rebuild kit but no luck yet

Have you gone to a transmission shop? That'd be my first stop.

I've seen a few on eBay and other sites here and there. But I think your best bet would be a tranny shop.
