I'm not an expert in this at all, I've only read a few threads where this popped up and that's it. Only answering because no one else has.

As far as I've read, there is only one company that makes an adapter so you can use your Rangers tcase and people have mixed feelings about it (after dealing with a V8 for a while it may blow but I haven't heard of that happening)

Or you could get:
An expo awd case
An expo 4x4 case (supposedly harder to find)
A 150 manual transfer case

Honestly if I were you, if you cant find an adapter either go with an expo case (which may need wiring work) or the manual shift (i would do this) as you have gone so long without it and it is time to get the swap done after 5 years.

Expo AWD tcase

If you want selectable 4wd, a tcase from a 4.6 f50 will plug right into your stock tcase plug. You'll need custom drive shafts.

For the 4406 from the early f150s you need to have a rear drive shaft either lengthened for shortened depending on the used one you get. The front driveshaft can come from an early 90s f150, same as the tc and then you'll need a special front u-joint. I have a 4406 behind my 5.0 right now and an electronic shift. Used the ranger shift motor on the tc and all was great!

The adapter isn't worth is because the trans literally has to be torn apart to put the longer output shaft in. On top of that, I wouldn't trust a 1354 tc behind the 5.0 for long.

also for the price of the adapter you can do everything mentioned above and still have money left over
