Default Drive shaft for superlifted truck

So I've been doing some research on building my own superlift-style front drive shaft (with the double cardon), and I wanted to run the recipe by y'all to make sure I've got it straight.

Ill need to get:
-The cv adapter (Neapco N2-83-288X)
I found it through northern drivetrain https://www.northerndrivetrain.com/m...d6fd7fc841e0c&

- A front drive shaft from a '95,'96, or '97 explorer
-The drive shaft will need to be shortened to 27.5" between the centerlines of the ujoints (this is the part I'm most concerned with. Any confirmation of this measurement would be greatly appreciated)

-6 new (shorter) bolts for the adapter

So, am I missing anything? Anything incorrect? Anything else I need to know?

That all sounds like the right path but I don't remember all the specifics.

The other forum has a great thread about building one.

Yea, that's where I got most of the info from haha

This seems to be what the guys in that thread used. The only grey area seemed to be the length of the shortened drive shaft.

My superlift shaft is 27.5" centerline to centerline. So I would say that is correct.

Is that as it sits in the truck? Or is that with the slip joint fully collapsed/extended?

As it sits on the truck. So that is a middle ground for the slip joint.
