Default Horrible noise and extreme vibrations under deceleration

At speeds over 80km/hr when I let my foot off the gas, to slow down , or going down a steep hill, the truck makes this awful noise and shakes and vibrates a crazy amount. Nothing under acceleration or constant speed or decel under 70km/hr. Thinking cause is excessive clearance between the ring and pinion. Need a new crush sleeve?

What do you guys think the problem is and what parts need to be replaced? What about driving it as-is, how long is what I'm wondering, 300km, 1000km, 5000km? First noticed this about 3000km ago when I started to drive on the highway more, but it has got worse, before that most all of my driving was in town or backroads.

Any ideas? Is it bad to keep driving it until I can work on it next month?

Sounds like bad drums in the rear. In my opinion at least. I kno that my parking brake had seized so that the left rear drum was always being just slightly applied, and you could feel the shoe grabbing and caused a terrible vibration when you let off the accelerator.

I just had the drums off diagnosing a rock in the brakes (how it got into the drum I don't know), and I had one out of adjustment but I turned the adjustment back. I guess it could be stuck again though, but i kinda doubt it. Definitely something easy to check, thanks

u joints are tight in the back, wheel bearings have 10k on them, lug nuts torqued to 100ft lbs. This may be a totally unrelated problem but my transmission moves a lot when taking off or hard acceleration, the shifter moves forward like 2-3" in the truck if I give it lots of gas and release the clutch quick

I don't have a lot of experience with manuals in these trucks, but that seems like a lot of movement to me. Might want to take a look at engine/tranny mounts. Idk if it's causing your other issue or not.

Ya I just replace the tranny mount, and that helped a bit, was like 4" before, But its looking off again, like the tranny is being pushed to ward the back of the truck. I 've got a pic.

Tranny mount has 3000km

I keep breaking transmission mounts, have broken 5 in the past year, 3 were within 2 months, 1 of them 3 only lasted a week. I have a weird noise as well, but no vibration, my noise is on take off, as I'm letting out on the clutch and the truck shakes a little. Im pretty sure I need motor mounts, 195k miles on them..

Ok, so on the movement of the shifter/tranny/engine note, I took a look at my motor mounts. I believe that this is unrelated to the noise and vibration but it needs to be fixed anyway. The passenger side motor mount is well, see the picture, its hard to explain, bolt coming through the top and rubber doesn't line up with the other side of the rubber. This will need to be replaced and parts are cheap so I'm going to do it, just a matter of when. What I need to know is how long I can drive it like this, I am heading home for the weekend this weekend (300km) and could possibly do it then but I'd rather do it on Christmas break, that would be a total of 1000 or so km more on this mount. Will it take it, and what happens if it doesn't? thanks, I've circled on a rockauto pic the part that is sticking out.

Also, how long will it take to change the mounts, I think I may as well do both while I'm doing the one, thanks

Well, I've searched this city over and nobody stocks motor mounts, so I guess it will have to last the 1000 or so km, until I can get a rockauto order in

Yup ur right, mechanic figured carrier bearing and maybe ring/pinion wear

--------------

Motor mounts are in and will install them next weekend, but on the note of the rear diff and the noise and vibration, it is getting worse. Talked to a mechanic and he says differential carrier bearings are shot, and possibly ring and pinion wear because of bad bearings. There is no way I can work on my truck at school and I only have 2 days on the weekend and I don't know if I can do the whole job in that time. I hope to make it to late April when school it out and do the job then but I dont know if I can get away with it for that long, now anytime under decel over 60km/hr the truck makes noise and shakes, gets worse with higher speeds. I can buy an open diff for the mean time and put it in but that is more money, and a lot more work. I know I'm taking a chance on trying to run it and I don't like doing it but I almost have to, what do you guys think? will it make the next 3.5months? generally drive 600km every 2 weeks or so, which means I'll drive another 4000-5000 km until I have time to fix it right. Or try and cram a cheap open diff in until I rebuild my trac lok? thanks
