HELP: Transfer case pops outta gear
Gotta 88 2.9 5speed 4x4. Manual shifter in the floor. Just started doing this. It did operate perfect. Haven't had no other problems with it at all. But when I engage the 4x4 & put it in 1st & under any load at all it pops out of gear. I've been told I needed a new TC but I can't believe that cause it's hardly been used. I've also been told it could be the forks are worn or the linkage needs adjusted. I'm going with the linkage adjustment first cause it's the most likely & least expensive. But if anybody knows how to adjust the linkage on a TC, I'd appreciate sum info cause I can't find any nowhere. Thanks in advance.
