Default Weird random vibration?!?! Please help!!

Ok, I dont know how to explain this but I will try. Every once in a while, Ill be driving down the road, up a hill or even just straight when all of a sudden Ill hear a viration coming from the truck (Like for 1 sec). Here is the best way to descirbe it. You know how many freeways have those rivets on the edge of the lane so that poeple "Wake up if they're sleeping"? and when you hit them they make that vibration sound??? well thats what my truck does sometimes. I cant tell where from, nor does it seem to affect the performance. Does that make sense or do you need more clarification? Thank you for all your time!

Check your tie rod ends? I had a car that would do that at certain times, usually during acceleration, and it was bad tie rods.

Is it at the beginning or end of a gear?

If it's at the end of a gear you have the same problem as me! You should have your driveshaft rebuilt (or if ur into tuning) get yourself an aftermarket one. Your U-joints may be a bit worn down too. Depending on how many miles you have on it, you may want to give ur exhaust system a look over as well.

If it's at the start of the gear I don't know what to tell u... other than the fact that u have a laggy transmission. D:

it could be the u-joint it could also be the carrier bearing if you have a split driveshaft.

So I just had one of my u-joints replaced and I am still having a vibration. I took it back in and now they're telling me the drive shaft is bent......I'm wondering if they bent it when they were trying to replace my u-joint?????

Never know, some shops don't do quality work. Some even cheat to make u come back and spend MORE money.

If you had the vibration before you took it there then they didn't do anything. They just did what most will do and that's "guess" or do what you tell them. Find an old timer somewhere and let him find the problem.

if it's making the same vibration at the same speed, rpm, etc. then most likely they didn't do it. Not saying they may not be cheating you though, it could very well be straight and they know it and they are trying to con you into buying a new driveshaft. chances are i would say they are not cheating you though. If the prices for the parts seem about right, there is not much they can cheat you on, labor replacing u-joints and a driveshaft isn't even an hours worth or REAL labor.
