Numerically they are the same (4.10's, 4.88's etc.) - but you have a 8.8, 28-spline axle in the rear & a standard rotation D35 SLA in the front.

Great site with a Differential finder (upper left-hand corner): Randy's Ring & Pinion

EDIT: Hmm - Randy's says a 2002 Mazda has a D28 front.....while a 2002 Ranger has the D35 front. I honestly don't thing that's correct though for a Mazda.

You'll want to purchase a 'master install kit' for each axle as well then. Comes with new bearings, races, shim kits etc.

While you're in there - that would also be the time to look at purchasing/upgrading to a locker or limited slip setup if you're even remotely thinking of doing it in the future.

Thanks for clearing that up. I knew my D44 in my F150 was reverse cut, but I forgot that high pinion equals reverse cut and low pinion equals standard cut.
