1994 5 speed 4x4 7.5" rear pop noise

Hello. My 1994 B4000 5 speed makes a consistent pop that seems to come from the back of the truck.

Whenever I take off in 1st there is a pop. When I shift through the gears every time I get back on the gas after shifting there is a pop. It is not immediate, the pop wont happen unless I press the throttle more than lightly.

The pop happens sometimes if I am slowing down with the brakes.

I have replaced the last ujoint, greased the driveshaft splines, and installed a new transmission mount. The pop is still present. I stopped using the parking break.

Don't quote me on this but I think excessive lash in the differential gears would do that, the pop would be the gears meshing back up

The truck only has 113k miles on it. Don't see how that could be the cause. I was thinking about taking the cover off of the rear end.

Found out that it does not pop when driving in 4x4 mode. Did this to test.

Is the Trans tight on the bell housing

I got under the truck and rocked it back and forth. The double cardan on the front of the rear driveshaft is where the noise is coming from.

So the ujoint is bad
