Lost 1st gear
So when in drive it will red line at like 5mph and even does the same in reverse. If I put it into second it will drive fine. If I turn overdrive off and put it in drive it will drive fine also. It's a 2000 2.5L automatic 2 wheel drive. Anybody have any clue what's wrong with it? Almost seems like I don't have a first gear. Need help bad and fast

Fluid & filter. That year is also a possible candidate for the infamous valve body gasket issue. Look into those now and you might be able to avoid a rebuild altogether.

Yeah, that'll do it. Sadly, that one is only reparable with a rebuild. Sorry dude. That really sucks. :/
