Question 4WD Troubles! Lockers?

Alright, I got a 1992 ford ranger v6 2.9l 4wd.

My problem is that my Ranger has one of those auto 4x4, push button bull s*** systems. Every time I turn it on, and get into something messy, I find that for some reason it turns off, and my right rear wheel will sink into the ground. All of the other wheels won't spin, which again causes the RR one to just sink in a split second.

Im not too familiar with 4x4 systems, but I believe my system is really just a part time one. As I understand if a wheel loses traction the system stops giving it power, and diverts it to the other wheels.

So my question is, if I get manual lockers for the front, no matter what it will always power all four wheels till I turn it off? Also, will I need anything else, or will I just need lockers to fix my problem?

I included a pic of my last "problem."

I put manual locking hubs on my 98 ( which could be different) because the vacuum lines with the "automatic 4x4" were always braking
So if our 4x4 systems are similar I would defiantly recommend getting some manual locking hubs

Okay, thanks for the input. So how do they work for you? Do you just get out and lock them without hitting the button? Or do you hit the button then lock them? Also you didn't have to buy or change anything else on your truck when installing the lockers?

They lock/unlock by turning them, and the switch on the dash inside you still use ( for the transfercase I believe)
So let's say you are driving down the road in 2x4, and you see a puddle you want to adventure in, so you pull over and walk outside and turn the hubs to "locked" then return to your truck, and turn your knob or switch to 4x4 and you are in 4x4

Now that seems like a pain in the ass everytime but you can just leave the hubs on "lock" and never unlock them, and just use the switch/knob inside your truck for when you want 2x4 and 4x4, the only con to this is the chance of accidentally switching into 4x4 on pavement and a reduction in MPG ( nothing drastic, but I know it reduces your mpg a little)
