I got the part # for the solenoid F87Z9H465BA thanks john_boi how about part numbers for o-rings and the rubber seal under the cap. They put a new spindle on this summer and now mine has stopped working. How is that vacuum tube that runs through the knuckle connection to the inside of the spindle. I have beautiful 16" alloy rims with no access to the hub with out removing wheel. PS: Never go off road but need it for the Michigan SNOW and railfanning!!! Thanks

is it making any noises? ur 4WD prob is the same as mine, and the first time I had it fixed, it was seals that were preventing the vaccuum needed for the 4WD to engage. Your Icon on the dash THINKSit's on, but it isn't. Start there...

Sorry it's taken me so long to update but here's what happened since I installed the vacuum solenoid. It did absolutely nothing meaning I have a leak somewhere else. Solution? Hub lock mod. Costs nothing and easy to do. Now my spindles are always locked a just like the newer fords and I'm not worried about the unreliable vacuum hubs anymore! Ps it did fix my ac blowing thru the defrost vent.

your mpg will decrease now since they're always locked.

I was hoping to rebuilding everything from the hubs to the vacuum supply tank new lines EVERYTHINGS I love my Ranger. I would let Ford do it but it might cost $63,345.21 ± $10,000 if I get all the parts ready I was hoping to do it in one day what do you think.

No I am not kidding I can see you rolling on your side laughing but I want my truck back to new. If your talking about Ford's cost to fix it being a bit low than yes. PS: I need to do this job in one day, I am 67 years old in poor health and hope I can do the whole job with a c-wrench now I'm kidding I do have a screw driver too. mickblock please tell me I can fix this somehow.

If your drive shafts turn when 4wd engaged but vacuum hubs do not lock.Try this site I did this to my 2000 ranger more than a year ago and it works great.

I like this idea but don't think I can do that with my wheels. The center hub is covered and don't think it can be removed with out removing the wheel each time.
