I have a 94 with the same problem do I need to start with vacuum line and solenoids or what and if so where exactly are they

i was talking to a mechanic friend of mine and he said it has to do with the vacuum system and it does not cost that much at all probally about 100 dollars there are three different selionids and any one can be bad its kinda like trial and error hope this helps

on my 1998 ranger xlt 4x4 there is one vacuum line on each side at the top of the hub both come into one and meet in a seloind behing the bumper area on the right side in front of the tire there are also 2 more i beleve they are on the drivers side on the fire wall
