Default Problems shifting gears

I'm new to the forum. I did a search, and found a couple problems like mine, but I want to describe mine, and see what you guys think. I just bought a 2001 4 cyl, 5 speed with 75,000 miles on it. The truck runs fine, and shifts gears fine for about the first 10 to 15 minutes of driving. Then I start having trouble shifting between gears. They are all difficult to shift into, and first and reverse are difficult from a stop. I have to use a lot of force to get it into gear. Wondering where to even start... Please help. Thank you

Check transmission fluid level would be a good start.

So I'm going to just change the fluid today. I also heard that this could be a problem with the slave cylinder? Anyone had this problem before? Is it expensive to fix?

So I changed the fluid in the transmission. The old fluid was black! The truck shifted super smooth for the first 10 miles, and then it started becoming hard to shift again. Just wanted to ask one more question before I take it to a shop...could there be anything wrong with the clutch? I checked the clutch fluid and it's full, the clutch seems kinda soft to me. But I've only had the truck for 3 days now. Thanks!

I can't really help you out to much more, I don't have a whole lot of knowledge on clutches and transmissions.
