Exclamation iding a transmission?

ok so i have an interesting question... when i bought my truck i was told that there was a newer engine installed and transfer case and other things but what im getting at is how do i know if the transmission was changed or not? do i need the build sheet or something? i know the engine was changed for sure because the guy put the wrong vaccumm hoses on witch i changed immediatly when i got it

I'm guessing a build sheet with the trans. serial number is what you would need to know for sure. But I'm not sure if that kind of info is even on the build sheet. Ford might be able to look it up thru your VIN.
