there really are none that i can think of, overdrive affects 5th gear while towing. turning o/d off basically eliminates that last gear so that you dont put excessive strain on the trans from shifting back and forth so much.

on another note, removing the fuse for the abs is highly recommended by me and many others due to the fact that it really serves no purpose off road and can often times put you in a tight spot.

ohh gotcha. and as far as the ABS goes, my light has been on for about a year and i dont miss them at all so much easier without them!

the only thing i do when wheeling, especialy in the sand is to use only one gear. when in 2wd or 4hi i will lock it into 1st gear or when im in 4 low i will use 1st or 2nd gear. that helps keep trans temps down becuase the trans isnt shifting constantly.

^^^ what he said...wheeling only requires you to go like what...1mph? lol or at least the wheeling I did in the jeep was as slow as you could go.....hell would be in first..in 4 low with 4:10's and a 4-1 low transfer case....slloooowwww..feet never touched the break or the gas...

with automatics....pretty much the same...1st gear...put her in low and enjoy

unless youre in low range, i like 2nd gear for 4 low. if youre on flat ground, not climbing you can put it in drive but when im there i usually dont break any speed records, i like to just crawl around in low range. ill put it in 2wd to whip a few shittys here and there though. lol just try a different stuff and stick with a combo you like.
