Default New Gears

Okay so I want to have 4.56 gears instead of my 3.73 gears since I have 33" tires. What spline and all of that do I have? Anybody can help me out? I don't want to buy the wrong thing.

All Rangers except the FX4 Level II's had 28-spline rear ends. The level ii's had the 31-spline setup.

The type of rear axle can be found here: Rear Axle Codes / Determine Gear Ratio

Your front axle is a Dana 35 - Standard Rotation (used in the Rangers from 1998 until it's death).

Here is a great ring & pinion product finder (Upper left corner): http://www.ringpinion.com/

Thanks Logan! You think 4.56 would be good for 33" tires and eventually 35"?

If your thinking about going to 35s might be smart to just go 4.88 n skip the 4.56.
