ABS to non ABS conversion
Want to do away with ABS module and go non ABS. I only have 6 miles of dirt road here and ABS is not important. I don't want to spend the ridiculous $ to bleed ABS module that had air introduced into it, just do away with it! with the least amount of $ possible. McGyver suggestions welcome.

You don't have to spend money to bleed the brakes? You could probably just disconnect the wheel sensors and remove the fuse so the light doesn't go on?

I wasn't sure on that one that's why I put a question mark after it.

you live in Alaska from the looks of it? You seriously want to do away with abs with all the snow and ice you get up there? Trust me, I miss abs, it's hell trying to get around without it

Re: ABS to non ABS conversion
ABS has it's ups and downs it's all about your driving style. Takes some getting used to the anti lock for sure. Like if there's just a small patch of ice that triggers it, but there's good grip right after it and the pump is still going and you pretty much have no brakes until it stops. Yea that's annoying. If you're not a ******* who just stomps on the brakes ABS gets in the way. There's one situation where it will come in handy and that's if you jam the brakes and have to avoid something, but if you know how to drive you should know to let up on the brakes if the wheels lock. ABS was designed with momma and granny in mind.

I think the underlying point is that you will have no traction until the patch is passed. With no traction you have no brakes, regardless of ABS yes or no.
People got around for decades with no ABS. But anybody that thinks they can stop better without it is patently a moron.

Hey you don't have to call people names lol. I can tell you from experience that if you have good tread sometimes it's better to let it dig in to get to grippy surface underneath. Totally depends on the situation. I've been driving on glare ice and winter conditions my whole life, my road is a sheet of ice half the year so I kinda know what not to do, I don't need a computer that only knows one thing to help me when there's always variables. Having said that I would never disable the anti lock because there are times when it has helped me and if insurance ever saw it was disabled that wouldn't look good for me.

Re: ABS to non ABS conversion
I just want to get rid of it (abs module) since like I said there is no need for it out here and as mentioned before I won't buy the scan tool needed to open the valves in the unit to bleed out the air. I think I need maybe different m/c or maybe a differential valve??
Thanks for the posts though.
