Default Still Vibrating

still having vibration issues especuially at 60 its real bad but for some reason round 70 it evens out. my u joints front an rear are new. my driveshaft slip yoke end was beat to hell from i guess the previous owner so i replaced that end of the driveshaft but I still have yet to get the driveshaft rebalanced. idk if this would makea big difference but im still going to do that. what else you all think i should do? rotate balance tires, get front end alignment. anything else. thetruck only has 50,000 miles so i wouldnt think bearings or balljoints andstuff would be bad already.

I would have started with balancing the tires personally.

well i found the copy in the glove box of the previous owner puttingthe tires brand new at like big o or sumthin like 5,000 miles ago so wouldnt you think they would balance them then i ont see why they wouldnt and would anything cause them to comeout of balancr yhat quick im pretty sure all he weights are still there? also would the front end being alil out of balance or tires being alil off really cause that bad of vibration n being ok at one speed an shitty at another?

Yes the tires being of balance even a little can multiply in effect.
Since you have a manual transmission you can diagnose the driveshaft by driving it at the speed at which the vibration is most pronounced.
then change gear while maintaining that speed. If it still vibrates then it's not the driveshaft. This is coming from page 0-27 of Haynes repair manual. It also says that you have to make sure that your tires are balanced before performing this test. Which is weird in a "well then what else could it be if it ain't the tires" kinda way.

I've got the same issue. Same speed. Same mileage etc. Here is what I've done so far:

Lubricated slip yoke
Mechanic checked ujoints
Had wheels balanced.

I'm running out of ideas now. It is fine up until I hit about almost 60-62. Then it wabbles until I'm up over 65 and it goes completely away at 70. Say you're going along at 70 and you see traffic up ahead so you let out of the gas. You watch the needle go down until about 65 then it vibrates and wabbles until 60 and then it is fine again. I'm lost. I really hoped that balancing the tires would have taken car of this, but it didn't.

The mechanic did happen to say that one of the tires was bouncing around kind of funny on the machine when he was balancing it. But he said that it was an issue that the machine that they had could not correct and it would have to go to a special shop with a more high tech balancer to do it. No idea what that is about. I might have a shitty tire. Maybe this will go away when I buy new tires. I have the stock Good Year Wranglers on it and I don't like them at all.

omg we have the same issues. I have the stock goodyear wranglers too and I fucking hate them. Heres what I done. I had the u joints replaced and my mechanic said that it looked like whoever did them before did a bad job an dused a hammer and hit the ends and could have possibly bent them so thats prolly where my vibration was from. Only one end of the driveshaft and u joint shaft area was dinged up bad so we just replaced the slip yoke end with a new one and put all new u joints and greased the slip yoke. that didnt really help at all but I also still have not got the driveshaft rebalanced which I really do need to do but the shop that does it is like half an hour away and I work nights so I still ahvent got around to doing it but I really really need to. I also just had an alignment done and balanced and rotated my tires and the guy said my front 2 had some chop in it and thats def going to cause vibration but moving them to the back would help alil but until new tires its going to vcibrate atleast alil because they werent rotated before so it caused them to wear bad. Even after all that it has still only helped just a tad so the only thing left to do is get my driveshaft rebalanced and new shocks and tires. After that I have no freaking idea. but im hoping that will fix it but omg my vibrates and shakes the worst at 60 and when I get up to 70 it evens out but around 55 to 60 is def the worst. My glovebox rattles too at that speed and thats really what annoys me that worst. any ideas on how to fix that.

Definately sounds like the same issue as me. I really think that it is a combination of that tire and the driveshaft. However, for some reason I've been noticing it less in the past week or so. I definately do need shocks. When I bounce the truck by pushing down on the bumper a few times, the truck doesn't come back up and sit in position correctly. Instead, it bounces a few times and slightly side to side, then comes to a position. This means the shocks are junk. But, I don't think that has anything to do with the vibration. I'm going to throw some bilsteins on there in the next couple of weeks and have the drive shaft balanced, then I'll report back.

My glove box doesn't vibrate, but my center console does. And, I can feel it in the gas pedal. Not sure why. Have you done anything to the truck to fix it yet?

hey man pertaining to the clunk go look at my other thread about clunk when shifting or w.e and a guy close to the end entered something interesting about his rear having alot of slope in it at only 50 or 60,000 miles. still a functional rearend but having alot of movement and slow so im goingto post a thread about it an see how much the rearend should move whilein gear? and check that outthis weekend when changing my fluid so look into that. pertaining to your question, theres only 1 shop around me that will balace a driveshaft and look at it but they cant do it in just a day cause they r super busy so im still waitin for when i can do that. then new tires and shocks here sometime soon. what shocks do you recommend getting?
