Default Rear axle shaft question

Hey yall, about 5 months ago my truck got hit by a kid joy ridding. It sucked, but insurance covered the damage and didn't think of it again. However I recently noticed a wobble in my rear tire. I took it down to the garage to get looked at and they think it's a bent axle shaft. Anyone know the approximate cost to replace a rear axle shaft? And is there anything else I should look out for or replace while it's in the shop ? Thanks.

Seems kind of strange that the axle would just bend now 5 months after the accident. Sounds more like a axle bearing problem. Have you tried putting a different tire and rim on to make sure that the rim is just not bent a little?.

I'd start by jacking up each corner and checking the wheels for any play. That could be as simple as a bad wheel bearing, and a broken suspension part. Both of those would actually make sense, since the initial shock would probably "break" them, but not really become too noticeable until it had time to wear down.
