Default Neutral Safety Switch Troubles

Hello all, this is my first post to the forum. I've been an avid lurker for a while now. Great knowledge in here

Owner of 2001 Ranger 2.5L, Automatic

I have been struggling with this neutral safety switch bolt. The thing will not come off for the life of me.

I need to replace this because my vehicle won't start in park or neutral. No power is going to the starter, etc. I believe the NSS is the issue but I don't want to yank on this bolt too hard as I believe that bolt the but is on goes inside the transmission. I don't want to risk damaging anything inside.

Is it okay to torque that thing to hell until it breaks loose?
Any suggestions?
