Exclamation Growling in right front.

During this past week my ranger has been making a growling noise in the right front of the truck. My immediate thought was it's a bearing. when i turn left it growls like no tomorrow but when you turn right it completely dissapears. replaced the right front hub and bearing assembly and the noise is still there! And if it helps i have no 4x4 either.

Has anyone had this problem before??

I had the same issue... Turned out to be the left front hub assembly and bearing. I know it would seem to be the right side, seeng that when you turn left it goes away... That stumped me for a week.lol

All wheels bearings have an inner and outer bearing to them. Most of the time when they go out, the outer will go out causing the growl to occur when you turn the opposite direction of the supposedly bad bearing and putting the load on that outer. But at the same time, you are also putting a load on the inner bearing of the same direction you are turning. This will also cause the same growl that can confuse people. Hopefully this made at a little bit of sense.

If you have the automatic hubs I bet the 4x4 issue and the bearings are relater do you have a vacuum leek? How about the seals? Was the bearing installed properly? Do a search on this forum. There are a bunch of threads on your issue

ive fixed the bearing issue but the 4x4 is still MIA. tryed replacing the vacuum celanoid (sorry is i didnt spell that right) And still nothing but what i dont get is every once in a while it will work. but when you REALLY want it to work you better call someone to come pull you out cause your stuck. it has vacuum i dont know if its just not enough to pull the hubs in or what its deal is. but i will be upgrading soon enough!
