Default 4WD Not Working Question

So, as my understanding, its the vacuum hubs not working. I'm pretty sure that's what my problem is. I don't think its the transfer case because I was going down the road today going about 50 and decided to click the switch to 4High, and I felt a tiny jerk, so I believe that is my transfer case working. So in your experience what are the best hubs? I heard of Warn Locking Hubs...Lets hear your thoughts.

What I hope to do- Paint wheels, new head unit, exhaust, fix four wheel drive.

to be honest. your not going to find any hubs for your truck. the only ones i found are from avm and rugged ridge they are the same but they sell a set of manual lock hubs. i just bought a set will be here soon. basically you pull old ones off and install them and plug off vaccumm lines. and if you do so happen to leave them locked like in the winter it won't really mess with your gas milage, i just did a ton of research for al of saturday and sunday. its the curse of the 98-2000.5 rangers lol. i ran into the same problems.

yea thats the cheap way but personally i would rather have control of my hubs being locked or not. depending on the driving you do cause im not always wheeling and its not always that bad of conditions to need my hubs locked

you still have control, the hole you put in the center allows you to push all the way in to lock, and push halfway in to unlock...
