Default slow transmission leak

so I just recently noticed a very small amount of transmission fluid gathering near the drain plug. When the car sits over night it creates a dark spot on the driveway about the size of a quarter.

I wanted to see if you guys think this is something I should have repaired. Or don't worry about it, because its so slow.

Maybe I could try the transmission sealer additive, has anyone used one of these?

Any help would be appreciated.

I have the same issue with mine the little washer they use as a gasket wore and leaked mine never leaves any spots and i check it every oil change and i might add a little once every third oil change or so. Ford no longer makes that gasket by itself you have to buy the whole plug to get it and for $60 for the plug i just put up with the slight leak. You could probably try some silicone gasket maker around the bolt head it seems to work pretty well for mine and it won't be permanent so you can reseal when you do a fluid change.

Measure the size of the bolt and get a felt or rubber washer at the parts store. Doesn't have to be Ford to work.

i don't think the leak is coming from the drain plug. I think its coming from the seal. I guess there isn't much I can do besides having someone remove the case and reapply some sealer.

What is your truck, btw? Anything beyond putting a washer under the fill plug would be guesswork without some details.

So if its not leaking from the drain plug, just where is it leaking?
