Default Automatic trans question

The rear most seal on my 07 XLT automatic transmission with a 3.0 motor is leaking a very slight amount.
Plan to replace it soon and wonder if I should change the trans fluid , or go for a full trans flush at the same time ?

Truck has 107k miles and i have no prior service records

Unless the fluid looks bad, just drain and replace the screen. Too many truthful horror stories about "flushes".
Every auto transmission has a little seepage at that seal.

I do not understand why a flush is such a problem on automatic transmissions.
Logic says ; you get all the old fluid and contaminates out and replace them with clean fluid

Does it have something to do with the internals components building up residue and meshing together smoothly and when you totally flush out the system they no longer get along

A change in fluid is obviously less expensive since you only replace what drains out. A flush get's everything out and you start fresh

not entirely sure either. It's just that once a transmission hits a certain point, for rangers it'd be near 110.000 miles , the transmission will seize up if you drain the fluid. I guess it doesn't have the life left In it to cycle the new fluid.

Who told you that nonsense?

I am guessing you did not mean to post 110 miles, either way I think you should limit your posts to the BS forum. You'll fit right in!

I do very little on my own anymore, to old and infirm

As to the transmission seizing up at 110k, BOLLOCKS !!

Many automatics are sealed units that do not recommend fluid change today. Not sure i agree with it but I am no transmission engineer either.

I'm just going by what my mechanic said lol. He told me that there is a point where it isn't safe to change the fluid or filter anymore. ---------- And that was the number he gave me on the miles.

Do a full 10 quart fluid exchange with mercon v.

Do you know about the cam syncro?

Yes i am aware of the cam syncro that may need to be changed in the future. My mechanic just did one on his Ranger, he listened to mine and said it's not making any noise so leave it be at this time.

I have more pressing issues with the beast at the moment.

Next week i am going to again address the issue of what feels like a badly balanced wheel, but it is not. We rebalanced them all , one is slightly bent , but not bad enough to warrant replacement.
I was ready to buy a whole set of wheels but

The boss at the tire shop I work part time for says it's more likely to be the tires. When i bought the truck the seller had just installed Cooper Super Cobra white letter tires. He say's they have had some bad tires from Cooper in that model before and wants me to try a different brand. More of a premium tire than Cooper, I am thinking about Michelin XE's but finding the correct size is a little problematic at the moment.

Can you please go up to quick links then signature and create a very detailed signature of your truck?

do you have an xcab? then xcab's have a yoke in the driveshaft that needs to be greased?

I tried to do what the last poster asked , but my computer skills are not all that great, so who knows if it worked.

My truck is an extended cab XLT 2007, automatic with a 3.0 engine.

Finally solved the vibration with a set of Firestone Destinations

Now I will be "selling locally" the Cooper's I took off. They have about 1k miles on them and I am hoping for around $200.00 for the set.
