99 Ranger 4X4 lights flashing
Hello, I am so happy to find this site. My question is, my 4X4 high and 4X4 light on the dash flashes sometimes when driving. Is this serious and can this be fixed by a do-it yourselfer?

mine has the same problem, and it could be a bad switch. my truck when goes into 4x4 high, wont come out when i turn the swithc. does urs do this? i think this may be your problem. hope this helps ya

The trans shifts from high to low and back no problem. Then when I am driving I will notice that the light flashes, it will eventally stop flashing. Someone told me that there is a computer that monitors your driving habits and that after so many miles it relearns and turns off. I don't know about that.

oh, sorry, i have never had a problem with that before and my 98 ranger has 126k miles on it.
