Default welding rear end

i was just wanting to know what you guys think about having my rear end welded instead of buying a much more expensive locker. my buddy is a hardcore 240 drifter and he said he can hook me up. just wanting to options or opinions on this. thank you

Welding the spider geara to me is good for straight line driving. I NEVER liked it in normal street driving. Do you have a 7.5 or 8.8? I know the 2.3L came withe a 7.5 rear end but im not sure bout the 3.0. But ether way you can get you a used posi for a 7.5 or 8.8 and replace the cluches in it and be better off! I can promise you that you wont like the welded spider gears exspecialy when you go to turn!

i run a spool in my samurai, its like haveing them welded. it is great offroad but is pretty noticable on the street. you must have even tire pressure at all times!!! and when you are parking at walmart all the people look at you because the inside tire is spinning, lol. it will eat up your tires quick too. for a DD i would not do it, but for something like my little zuke, it is perfect.
