Default Gasket material for manual transmission pan

Since I can no longer get transmission gaskets for my 1989 Ford Ranger, I'm going to custom cut my own. Amazon sells Fel-Pro gasket sheets in variety packs or individual sheets. What material would be recommended for a manual transmission pan gasket.

Just use blue RTV without any gasket? Would that work OK?

yup. I've used it on differential covers and transfer cases and never had any leaks. Trick is to get it really clean with brake cleaner and don't use too much RTV. a thin bead is all you need

You could always buy gasket maker material, put it over the pan, bolt the pan back up to create an impression of the pan, unbolt the pan and cut out the impression and have a custom made gasket.

That's what I was originally going to do but I wasn't sure what material to use. The Fel_pro product I was going to get was a variety pack of gasket material containing 4 sheets of gasket material(2 cork-rubber, 1 rubber cellulose, 1 rubber fiber) of varying thicknesses. Which of these would be the best for a manual transmission pan? Even if I use RTV, this variety pack interested me regarding future gasket needs.

Sometimes on this forum, I end up answering my own questions but still, the forum is invaluable for getting different view points. I just found out the product I was discussing comes with a spreadsheet outlining what applications each of the gasket materials is for. Anyways, if anyone else needs gasket material, this variety pack gets good reviews on Amazon. It is listed as Fel-Pro 3060. I'm going to order it. At $7.19, how can anyone go wrong? Thanks for the responses.
