Default Gear Change Clunk

hey guys i have an 06 4.0 5 spd with 53,000 miles. wen i shift and let off the clutch yu can hear it clunk or mae a sound of engaging in thegear from insde the cab. and i dont mean like wth my trying to shift fast or hard I mean just normal easy driving an easy letting off the clutch. I was just wondering if this is anythin I need to b concerned about or just normal sounds.

i think its actually coming from the rear end. like i can actually feel and hear it from back there when i release the clutch into gear when im shifting n will make a slight clunk. its weird because if I kind of apply alil gas when shifting and let of the clutch extremly slow it really doesnt do it to much but im talking about absolutly babying it. when it makes the clunk its not like im shiftin hard or anything that would cause it to normally do it. maybe I need to change the rear fluids and add some friction modifier in or something. any suggestions.

u joints wouldn't do it try just flushin your trans n change filter if not then maybe if 4x4 its the electronic crap on rearend that switches gears not working properly herd that goes bad on your years of rangers.

Slop in the rear end is what it sounds like. Improper gear lash.
I hate the 7.5 axle, I had excessive lash at 60K miles on mine, hell the Expo 8.8 I put in out of a '96 had less wear on it, with more miles on the clock.

what would other feelings be that would make it seem like it has excessive slop in the rear. and how did you find out with only 60,000 miles, like did something break or just looking at it or what?

By jacking it up and rotating the axles one at a time, and feeling for play, and feeling for play in the yolk. And when I say excessive, I mean, lots more than I like. Still a functional axle, in case I break one of the others, but more slop than I like. Clunking when the clutch was let out, or when you coasted and got back on the gas, that sort of thing that drives me up a wall.

I do feel like when I let off the gas real fast or pump it real fast I get like this huge slowing down motion and kind of banging feeling but I just always thought it was because I have 4.10 gears which I never have had and thats why it seems to drop speed fast and jump like that because its geared so high with small 235 tires.
