yesterday I just got done replacing the clutch in my truck. anyway a new problem has risen. the transmission shifted smoothly fine before. now I'm stuck in 1st gear. but the shiftier is showing that I'm in neutral. I checked to see if the clutch is moving from the master cylinder. and it is. but i cant get into or out of the 1st gear. yet the clutch disengages when the pedal is pushed. the vehicle stays still when in gear and the clutch pedal is push when starting the vehicle. And I cant get it out of 1st gear whether the vehicle is running or not.

so I'm wondering if something went wrong when I put the transmission back onto the vehicle.

Pull the three screws out that hold the shifter in the trans, pull the shifter out, look in the hole, you will see three shift gates, one will be out of line. Use a large screwdriver, and slide in back in line with the others, replace shifter and go.

Did that and still the same thing. im also noticing that when the transmission is under load and moving the vehicle there is a loud sound. too me it sounds like a roller bearing spinning with no lubrication. could it of burned out causing the gears not to shift?

So did you drive it after replacing the clutch? did you put oil back in the trans?

I tried again with the unjamming of the shift pins and it worked. so its now shifting thru the gears again. they were just so far stuck that it was difficult to move them. thanks for the help.
