Was under my truck and noticed that there seems to be a huge gap between my transmission and universal joint on the drive shaft. I was wondering if it is suppose to be like that or if something is wrong?

see the wear where the seal used to/normally rides?? did you take the pic with the rear at full droop? As the rear suspension travels, the length of the shaft changes to compensate for the difference. The pics look normal to me.

BTW....you need a new output seal.

nope all 4 wheels were on the ground when i took the picture

and thanks for the info, i will replace the seal when i fix the leak coming out of the coolant line up front in the next few days

That shaft will travel back and forth in the tranny as the rear end bounces around. It looks ok.
