...what the gear ratio already is? i need to know what it is so i can change it and if you know how to a little advice on that would be great too.

Look at the door jam, there will be the build tag, look for the space for axle coding...
But a more direct way would be to crawl under the truck and look at the axle tag... it should have the gear ratio stamped on it.
