Default how to check fluid level in manual transmission

How do I check fluid level in 5 speed manual trans. where to look?

Not in a manual, no. I think the only way to check fluid level is to pull the fill plug out of the side of the transmission. The fluid should go up to the bottom of the hole. You would fill one so that it would just start to seep out, then it would be full.

I'd check your manual. The closest I can tell you is that my shop manual for my '98 calls for Mercon. I would check carefully to see if you need Mercon 5 or what exactly.

Stick your finger in the fill hole just to the first knuckle and see if you can get some oil on it. If so, good ta go. If not add the proper lube until it wants to run out of the fill hole (with the truck level)... always something
