oh i figured it out allright, i should have googled it before i bought this thing, numerous, numerous, numerous reported problems, ford released technical bullitins, but no re-call, and various ways to fix them from .....tranny cooler thermostat changes, the notorious valve body gasket fix, to shift kits that involve tearing it out to install solenoids, and other various known trouble pieces throught and correct all of fords known fuck-ups
this has to be the worst tranny ever built, had i only googled it before hand,
gonna run her till she blows, and hopefully catch it in mid act, so i can really fucking fry this mother fucker !!!!!!
then i'll get a rebuilt one with 24 month warranty, and all the known fuck-ups fixed already out of arizona for $699, then this bitch is finding a new pimp.
ford should be very proud of this 55r55e tranny, it really reflects good on them !!!!!
might as well have been a fuckin pinto !!!!!!

EEWWW not good man. Thats actually a cheap rebuild price. You should see what their "CASH" price is. Even if you got one from an exploder, it would be likely for a rebuild cause ya never know what you're getting unless it comes with rebuild paperwork

started slipping in the 2nd to 3rd gear change, under power or load, changed fluid filter, same results, took it to a tranny shop today and they called and found metal shavings in the pan, bad news, they want 1750 to rebuild, i found some 55's for around 500, but just found a 99 explorer one for 150, with fluid filter and new cooler, sweet deal if it fits
dude got it from a yard, and motor blew before he could change it
