98blownranger, Can you help me trouble shoot a problem I am having with my 1993 Ford Ranger (4.0 6cyl)? I am getting a check engine light. It comes on around 55 mph. Berfore I changed the plugs, it use to come on and then go off after 20-30 seconds. Now it comes on a stays on until I turn the truck off for a few minutes. I am not real sure how to check the codes in this truck. I can be cruising around 55-65 and then all of a sudden it starts to lose power. My foot can be to the floor and it steadily slows down. I replaced the fuel filter yesterday,placed Seafoam injector cleaner in it, half a tank of premium gas. It's still acting up. Also, is a 1993 suppose to have a EGR valve. I checked my haynes manual at the engine diagram for the 4.0. I did not see a EGR system on mine. Can you help me out? If so, please feel free to reply to my personal email (RED96LT1@HOTMAIL.COM).
