Any products out there that will put the shine back into say fender flares, plastics? Something that will last longer than
Son-of-gun type products.

I have had really good luck with "Mothers" brand "Back to Black". It is some kind of cleaner/wax. Works really well. I use it at work and at home. Highly recommend it.

Another good one is Black Wow. Google it for vendors. Its expensive but a very little goes a long long way.

I use Stoner's Trim Shine. You can get it at any auto parts store....here in Detroit at least. It comes in a spray can and I use it on the flares and valance. It works great, makes everything look brand new, and lasts a few weeks - even in rain.

Here's what I use on my fender flares and valance....

Took this shot of my half-finished flare yesterday. $5 for the can and I can do all 4 flares, front valance, and mudflaps three times. Good deal.

A trick to help get the most out of these products is to actually clean the parts very well with a paint prep chem. It will remove the oxidized layer of the plastic and allow the product to actually sit on the plastic and it will keep the look longer.
P.S. I like two products one is NXT tire dressing and the other to terry on is Engine detailer.

Believe it or not, the stuff you use on your tires to make them shine will work perfect on your plastics.

And in some cases actually last longer.

i just dab a little Meguires Hot Wheels tire shine onto a rag and rub it on my mudflaps or plastics, keeps then dark and shiny for months.


Done.

Its basically the same product, its a plastic/rubber conditioner !

another good product to use is the Showroom New Restorer Black, it's actually a permanent dye and not a shining product, so if have faded flares or valance, it's a good product to restore it and much easier to use then paint. The great part about it, is if you get it on paint (even when fully dry) you can clean it up. I would always tape the section off, but just in case you get some spills and such.... Use an sponge applicator like this one, and you're good to go!

that little bottle goes a long way because the key is to use a small amount... you can use it to cover up scuff marks and such as well.

does it need to be warm out to use this stuff? and does everything have to be clean for it to work? Cause it's about 24 degree's out right now and my flares are dirty. hahaha. just wonderin.
