Default Cheap (2.24) turtle wax metal polish

Figured I'd post this since I've been looking for a cheap aluminum polish to get off the water stains and tarnish for my toolbox. Only 2.24 at wal mart too. Started on it today but didn't finish. Prob not the best but it works with elbow grease and a ton if rags. Btw I tried vinegar as I saw it was suggested by some ppl but it didn't do anything. More concentrated solutions maye would work. Anyways here's before and after

At walmart they have chrome polish right next to it, same brand. It was like $2 bucks and I decided to pick it up today (picking up some bug wash/sand paper/etc) and man, I wish I should of done it sooner. Really made my XLT bumpers look really nice. Also made my plastic fake chrome wheels & grille look really nice as well. Best thing I ever found for XLT chrome wheels. I tried normal polish/compound on my bumpers before, it made them look good and shinny, but not reflective-perfectness like turtle's chrome polish! And for two bucks I couldn't go wrong I said to myself in the store.

Heres the before, but you can see the rims/bumper looks shiny, but don't have a deep shine, now they do, but don't have a pic of it.

Yea, I thought that stuff was just pretty much compound/polish, but sold as chrome polish, since compound/polish has alot of uses. But I guess it has something else inside it to make chrome look & reflect like a mirror. Now if only I had a good buffer & knew how to use a buffer to make my paint be a mirror too. I'm pretty good with compound/polish on paint, looking pretty damn nice, but you can only do so well with hand buffing.

I tried a ton of stuff on my XLT plastic chrome rims, and nothing really gave it a nice shine. Plus since its polish, it also really helps with removing brake dust and road tar on the rims.

And like you said, its cheap, the metal polish and chrome polish are right next to each other and they're only 2.XX each. I just went ahead and got the chrome polish. (its funny you made this thread today, I didn't see it before, and after using my stuff, I was gonna make a topic talking about how good this stuff is.)

I switch between the turtle wax polish and never dull. I had to polish brass in the navy (among other things lol), stuff works wonders on metals.

^ Great info, and never dull is located in the soap and detergent aisle at Wal-Mart correct? I wondered about using a non-automotive product on my XLT chrome rims, but I guess I could give that a try if I can't find the Turtle Wax, which really turned out nice.

It can be there or automotive, depending on their setup. Just check the label for all metals u can use it on, but chrome rims for sure.

Oh yeah, if ur chrome has any rust, coca-cola and aluminum foil balled up works well. My wheels have some pitting that needs love every few months. The pits are still there but the orange will be gone for a bit.
