when I say buff I mean use a machine, like a dual action polisher, or a rotary if you know what you are doing with it. I recommend 4" pads, and then you use a compound to remove the sanding marks, then follow up with a polish to bring the shine back. Removing sandmarks by hand can be challenging and very time consuming. You're better off going to a hardware store and picking up backing plate for your drill. Start off on a medium setting and do 2-3 passes, if no change, try again at the same setting, if it still doesn't remove anything bump up the speed 1-2 clicks. Make sure you keep the pad moving slowly back and forth and not leave it spinning in one spot.

i find when i wax my truck Ill go ahead and put wax on the head, and taillights keeps them lookin good.
