As some know I scored a free 1948-1955 chevrolet hood. I thought about it and I am gonna keep the hood for sure. Now I wanna start preping it for paint. I need to clean the emblems. No need to replace with new ones for these are in great shape just dirty.
Any suggestions you guys have to cleaning them up. Most is just like a surface rust or something.
ketchup. the acidity of tomatoes is enough to eat the rust but not eat the metal. put it in a bag of ketchup for a couple days and then wash it off and clean it up with a brush and some metal polish

I've heard the same is true with Coke... I'm sure Mykhael has a bunch of Dr. Pepper that would work just as good but something tells me he wouldn't waste Dr. Pepper like that lol

I would rather not waste my soda. However my mother in law drinks coke.
I remember doing stuff like that is school. Wouldn't hurt to try with this. I guess it wont take the chrome off? Probably leave it in there for 5-10 minutes
