Default I have had it with autozone battery

So ever since i bought my ranger. i bought a duralast gold and i ended up exchanging it 2 times, because the battery fluid just keep leaking out somewhere.

And the previous owner had alot of corossion, so i finally decided to rust reform it and paint it.

And now my autozone battery is leaking again. And is rusting the battery tray.

Except that i already paint the tray to white. and parts of it is coming off and rusting.

Anyone have a idea of how i can remove the white paint and put some more rust reformer on?

Sand it to bare metal, clean it, prime it, paint it.

This or use a blaster, aircraft paint stripper, grinder etc. and maybe get one of those mats that sits under the battery to absorb the leaking in the future.

Definitely dont have a blaster or want to blast that area in the engine compartment....
I was using like a wire brush tp scrub it, it is not even scracthing the paint i lay down a few weeks back.

I sprayed it with rustoleum rust reformer, dupli color white, clear coat.

What should i use to scrub off the white paint....?

I would be more concerned as to why your battery keeps leaking.

Check the voltage with the engine running, the battery might be getting overcharged.
You seem to have a different problem with the truck every week, hope your luck improves.

Lol well my truck is actually very good to me i'd say.
Nothing super bad, is just im OCD with everything and want everything perfect.
The battery is getting a 12.5 voltage last checked today with a multimeter.

The last autozone battery i actually saw liquid coming out from the side of the battery.
This one i didnt, but there was corrosion on my battery tray.
And i had rust reformed it, paint it, clear it before putting in the new autozone battery, and now it is screwing me over again.

I would stop buying autozone battery's, tell them this is unacceptable and you want your money back or store credit at least. However if you decide to keep putting them in and they continue to leak spray paint will do nothing against battery acid. Sand it down to bare metal and line x it (spray on bed liner). Thats about the only thing that will work besides buying a good battery.

Man I have no problem getting another battery
I just didn't know how crappy auto zone quality is.

But right now I live at a apartment where I can't use like a power tool to remove the white paint I sprayed on few weeks back
So I guess I will go buy some sand blocks and sand the crap out of it
And use Eastwood encapsulator and spray white paint again

For the tray rust, grab a paint stripper wheel for your drill & go at it (carefully).
The stripper wheel will remove paint, rust, fingers... Once everything is down to bare metal, shoot some rust-preventing paint & you should be good.

I've seen a chemical rust killer that you brush on & wash off with water, never tried it myself though.

I had an autozone battery with a 5 or 7 year warranty. It died in about 1 year, took it in for the free replacement & after an hour of BS from them they pretty much said tough luck. I bought my first wally-world battery a little later that day & it lasted right up to the 9 year warranty.

I called autozone's corporate headquarters & let them know how I was treated & they told me to return the battery to the store for a full refund no further questions asked. Didn't help much as I had to have a battery to drive around with, but at least the corporate heads have more common business sense than their store managers.
