ATTN BLACK RANGERS! black box detailing kit??
Have any of you tried the black box kit? My mom has a black car, and it needs a good cleaning. I want to make sure that its not a wast of money/time before I go out and buy one and detail her car.
thanks for your input guys!

Re: ATTN BLACK RANGERS! black box detailing kit??
i used it on my old car, a black land rover. it looked wonderful, and worked great, except it was messy and i could get a shine just as great with my other detailing supplies.
----------
the black wax gets all over your hands from the pad, really messy..

yea that mess would suck, my dad got this to use on his car but hasnt yet, might tell him not to lol. Its black so the excess residue isn't as noticeable compared to the white with normal wax i think.
meguiar's ultimate is nice, used it on my truck and it dries clear so you dont have the white residue.

Re: ATTN BLACK RANGERS! black box detailing kit??
The black box is alot of work because you have to put the conditioner on first then wipe it off then apply the wax and it also gets messy because you have to use some kind of black detailing spray which makes the conditioner and wax start to run. It works, but regular wax works just as good with less time and effort.

Re: ATTN BLACK RANGERS! black box detailing kit??
I did a thread on this back in the summer. After asking about it and seeing some results at a local car show, I found that the results are good but it's not really worth the mess to me. So I ruled it out and stuck with what I know, Meguiar's Gold Class Wash, Turtle Wax ICE, and Zymol. The Ice wax is really good and is their absolute best. It's easy to put on (even in direct sunlight) and the more you wipe it down after applying it, the more it shines. When you put the Zymol over top of it a section at a time, it dries before your very eyes almost instantly. This process will last about 9 months with one application, but if you do it twice it will last about 18 months give or take a little bit.

Re: ATTN BLACK RANGERS! black box detailing kit??
McGuires ultimate works very well. striped the paint nicely and removed all the swirl marks. Just make sure you give it a healthy coat of wax and a quick coat of sealant. The truck has never looked so good. Used it on my black excursion and made it looks like a mirror.
