$400.00 is bc I had many dents and some other repairs. It comes with 2 years warranty. I wish I had pictures before to share with y'all bc you're right! It looks a thousand times better than it did before. I only paid $2300 for the truck and there is no way I was going to spend more than what I did. My buddy who works at a really good high end body shop told me that they can do this due to the amount of cars they paint. Workers are making an average between $10.00 to $15.00 an hour. The paint is the same paint they have unless you have a high end car and is a special paint.
Their shop is about 25000 sq ft and it was packed with cars from MBs, Bimmers, hot rods, and dealer's repairs. I never liked their job but I have to confess that after seeing my brother-in-law's car it blew my mind!
They are going to put the pin stripe and black out the plastic door handles today. It should be ready tomorrow and I'm going to take better pictures to post here.

Sweet dude... kinda makes me want to repaint my little beater honda. Got some clear coat failure goin on there and tiny dents... I didn't know they warrantied their work. And it really is all in the prep work I think.

if you prep yourself and find a good painter no reason for it not to last they shitty prep it thats why it peels...other than that its decent single stage paint

I saw a 2000 Camry that was painted there two months ago and once again very impressed with the quality. Of course its not going to be FOOSE's quality but a I could not see myself spending more money on a 2000 Ranger with almost 200K miles!
I'm going to take more pictures of other cars they painted and post here by Monday.
Take care!

Looks good man, especially for only $400.00. I'm in the same boat as you actually. I have a 98 ford ranger with a ton of scratches and dents here and there. I picked my truck up for around the same price too, and i've been wanting to have the truck repainted but for the right price. I'm hoping that I can get the same work done for around the price you paid by the maaco down the street from me. Post more pics when you can

That's not bad at all for a MAACO Paint job. In the past, it was best you done the prep work yourself then take the vehicle to them, but if they're offering a 2 year warranty kool. A local painter here that fixed mine after I hit a deer in 2005 screwed the pooch concerning my paint. He put too much hardener in the paint and he did a poor job on the prep work. year to the date the paint started to crack and peel. That aint a bad job at all for $400 bucks. For a quality paint job I'm looking at an easy $10K which is about average for a good paint job.

$10K? Justifiable if you're painting a Ferrari or similar. All I wanted was to remove the scratches, dents and have a uniform coat on the car. I agree with you 100% when it comes to prep work! I gave them one month and they took their time.
I'm going to buff with glaze, dark swirl removal and wax at least every two months. Between waxing I'll apply liquid wax (ice from turtle wax) and will be fine.

I have to ask.....did they tape and paper around door handles, trim, moldings,.....?
I work at a high end body shop and for JUST giving you a 2 year warranty.....expect your paint to start looking bad in about 2 years! My shop offers lifetime warranty as long as you own your vehicle!

"I have to ask.....did they tape and paper around door handles, trim, moldings,.....?"
Yes they did it. Including removal of taillights, third brake light and emblems.
Pal, I was a high end used car dealer and had tons of cars painted. I fully understand the difference of a high end paint shop and a Maaco type one.
Give me one reason to justify spending thousands of $$$$ on a 2000 Ford Ranger with 200K miles? I paid $2300 for the truck, had some work done at my buddy's shop including new clutch, flywheel, tune up, new slave, new muffler, new headlights, new taillights, seats were repaired, windows tinted, oil change, K&N filter, new flowmaster with new tip installed. The paint job brought the total investment to about $3500.00. Retail price of the truck is about what? $4/4.5K? The paint job is not for everyone I know but, It makes the truck looks very good! Think about it! For two years $200.00 a year, For three years $135.00 a year... Do the math... I think is worth it.

The reason mine is going to cost alot is I need alot of body work done. The paint job itself aint that bad, but mine is mostly centered around labor mainly. Taking one month to do prep work sounds about normal for any body shop worth their salt. If mine didn't need so much body work, it would only cost me about $3K. That's what ran the bill on my quote, labor involving body work. The shop that "fixed" mine had it for 3 weeks and plenty of time for good prep work on a front fender. The hood still looks good to this day, but for some reason they rushed the prep work on the front fender and it shows too.
