1) Use the 'Search' feature at the top of this page because this problem has come up before. I say this because you will get an accurate answer faster.

2) Some have success with a hairdryer (I don't necessarily agree).

3) There is a special tool with a handle that can be purchased (online at Amazon or at Home Depot) that as you rub across should peel right up.

4) Any sticker/adhesive remover and/or very carefully a razor blade.

I found a guide in the how to section. Its pretty much a giant pencil eraser on a drill bit that you just rub down the pin stripe..

When I took some stickers off, it left a ghost mark (sun faded the paint around the sticker and could see the outline of the sticker). Just something to keep in mind

Thats kind of what I am afraid of. My paint is not in great condition, I dont think the previous owner waxed the truck very much. I may hold off until its time to paint the truck.

There could be some shading difference but about after a few weeks in direct sun that should fix it. I used a razor blade. Not the best idea.

You can't use a razor blade on paint. There are plastic razors for decal/adhesive removal.
I can tell you after 13 years in the carwash/detail business that the paint under the stripe will be like new and will stick out like a sore thumb.

I agree that a combination of heat and plastic razors should work also you can use adhesive removers, I believe mineral spirits should work and is safe for paint or you can use a product like Stoners Tarminator/ 3M adhesive remover. As far as the paint if you can take a weekend and polish up your truck to remove any oxidationon or dullness and remove any sign of the pinstripe. Dont forget to wax it when done.

Well Ive encountered something similar to this in my trucking career. Basically we'd end up changing the logos on the trucks and trailers when the company either merged or was bought out by another company. What we used was something called Zylof (I guess that's the name of it, but I'm not really sure) and a heat gun. It worked pretty good but wasn't really the best and it will leave an imprint from where the surrounding paint had been fading. But after a few weeks or so and a couple of washes, you'll never even know it's there after you remove the pinstripes. Are you certain they're stickers and not painted on?

Yeah they are definitely stickers. I don't really have $40 extra for the 3M eraser wheel. I do have a heat gun and plastic razor blades though. I also have some body solvent to get any residue. Hell I'll try it. My truck looks pretty good from a distance but up close its kind of a mess. It's not bad, but I always tried to keep my paint nice. Its not quite to the standard I like. Well, I take that back, the horizontal surfaces aren't anyway, the hood and roof are oxidized, the sides look decent.

I ended up with today off work, which would have been a great day to do this, along with a good wash, polish, and wax job. The only problem is it has been raining all day long.
