Started on my VERY clouded lens today with 1500 followed by 2000 followed by Meguairs and it's better but still need some way to go.

A thought on this: the lens has2/3 raised dimples - do they serve a function? Otherwise it would be nice to flatten them down to make the wet rubbing easier...

they are used to attach to tool to properly aim your lights, but fuck that. You can take em off.

Thanks - to add to the fun the passenger side lamp unit swivels slightly backwards in place (the other doesn't move) so I will have to have a poke around in there in the near future and figure out why it can move...

The headlights on my old mans Explorer are begging to have this done to them. Might give this a shot. Drives me crazy.

ive been detailing for about 20 years
the way i do it is wet sand with 200 grit then 400 grit then 600 grit then buff it out with mild compound
takes about twenty minutes and works great

I used the meguiars on the Sonata, its works great but can dry to quickly and actually burn your headlights, you have to be good with a drill to avoid it.

wow, old thread! in that case...i used a 3M brand kit for a set of headlights (came with a the drill shank). after wet sanding it looked great, then after the compound applied, amazing.

i still think it needs to be regularly waxed afterwards to keep them that way (whatever product you use).

Has anyone used the Turtle Wax kit that comes with the pads and sealing wipes? From demo's online they seem to look very good but I'm not sure how good compared to others.

I did just a few weeks ago. Actually improved a lot but mine need at least an 800 grit wetsand.
An I didn't put as much elbow grease as I could have. If you're willing to have dead arms afterwards it should probably come out ok.
