Default Lets talk about how to paint scratches etc

Alright so i'm trying to get the truck better looking for summer and im not a freak about scratches since A its a Truck and B i live in the woods lol but i would like to know what people recomend / a quick how to on painting scratches, just a touch up stick from autozone??? and also the main areas im looking at is right on the bed rails a paint flake came off showing rust underneath and how to paint that? and how to paint a spot where my girlfriend forget to tell me she spilled epoxy on the body.... and when i took that off paint came with it.

Just any info on how to do some touch up work or if there is already a thread about it and im a dumba$$. I've seen the cleaning/detailing writeups but they dont come out after that.

Thank ya!

Use paint thinner on the scratch, cleans out the dirt and grime, etc.

Then compound/wax the area.

Paint the area with touch up paint of your choosing.

Let sit

wash her down

Bam! "good" as new.

Here's a tip that works really well--I've heard it from several different body men.
Get the Dupli-Color touch-up paint to match, but instead of using the brush, use an old school match-the cardboard ones that come in a "book". Tear a match out of the book and use the "torn" end for the brush. Works great, less blobs, puts on the perfect amount of paint.

How do you get one thats our truck color? I saw them at autozone but the closest they had was the sonic blue a couple of you guys have. My trucks covered with scratches since it was used as a "ranch" esque vehicle.

I just got my order from these guys:

http://www.paintscratch.com/index-button.html

They mix it up based on your vehicles color code and everything. I purchased a few of the basecoat paint pens as well as clearcoat paint pens.

They sell everything from paint pens to gallons as well as the accessories to go along with it (tag rags, wax removers etc.).
