you're better off using an applicator pad to apply to get a nicer and move even coat. Remove wax after it dries/cures fully, easy test is the swipe test:
-using a clean/dry finger wipe make a wipe mark across a waxed body panel.. if there are smudges or lines... wax isn't ready to remove, if you get a nice clean swipe, you can remove (this isn't the case for some sealants which require 8+ hours to cure, or luxury waxes containing more then 40% carnuaba by volume) but for the wax you are using, this will work 100%

Your best bet is to get a nice layer of a sealant down followed by a couple layers of a carnuaba based wax....
I agree with all that. Carauba is where it's at. That's why I use Zymol. There maybe be better waxes out there, but it's the best I have ever used hands down. None of the other non-carnauba waxes I've tried even come close.

Always by hand. It's a lot more work, but I take pride in doing it the old fashioned way. I get better results that way, too. I'd like to think my finish looks pretty nice.....

Default Re: Wax

I used to only use Meguiars until I tried Wizard's products. They are simply amazing. Of note, in my experience, their Black Renew will bring any color plastic back to life and last. The Tire & Vinyl Shine lasts longer and is not greasy like Meguiars Shine. Finally, Shine Master, the wax alternative is like a hand glaze with a good coat of number 26 over top all in one step. I use the Mist-N-Shine to keep my detail job up. I have not washed my truck in over a month, and it looks as good as the day I detailed it.

I should note that I use a Mild or Medium 3M detailing clay to remove all tar, oxidation, and other road grime prior to sealing with Shine master. If your vehicle is really bad wash with Simple Green first, then clay, then wash, dry, and wax. If you do it right, maintaining the look is quick and easy.

Here is a "How-To Use" link for the Wizard's product line.
