Post What kind of power washer?

Hey everyone. I'm looking to buy a power washer for every day purposes like cleaning the porch, gutters, driveway and also safe for the truck. What is the best but inexpensive power washer I can get? The stores I have near me that I would think sells power washers are Walmart, Target, Kmart and Lowes. I saw one power washer at Walmart for like 100 bucks?! That's crazy cheap for a power washer. So any suggestions would be nice. Thank you!

I would stay away from electric ones, they dont put out enough pressure to do anything with, maybe x2 of a garden hose. Gas would be the way to go. Like a 3hp 2200 gpm with the interchangable tips. I would check out CL, prolly find a good deal on there

the ones that use honda engines are awesome. ours sat with old gas in it for 2 years, and after cleaning the carb, and new gas, it started and ran perfectly fine.

honda is king with small engines like this.

Have you actually used one ? I can personally tell ya they put out alot more than 2X a garden hose lol.... No really, they do pretty good for cars and driveways,, but for long distances like cleaning a house, I wouldnt recommend one.

Yes, electric ones arent the way to go. If you find one that has a briggs and stratton engine or honda you buy it right away. You can alway buy different tips for the wand a later time. Craiglslist has good deals so check around there and just make sure you test it before you buy it

My neighbor has an electric one I use when my dad uses mine. Its good for small things, like the lawnmower. It has a rotating pattern that helps lossen up dirt, but to use it for the house mold that comes every year, no go!

I used a Karcher I believe. IIRC, it was like 1500 PSI, most cheap powered ones are around 1800-2200 psi. Either way, the only thing I would own a electric for is truck, porch and driveway, beyond that, go gas.

But then again, gas is crazy expensive lol

Well to tell you the truth, I really don't need a gas one just because I have never dealt with one before and wouldn't know the first thing of taking care of it. I just need a simple power washer that will clean up dirt and pollen off outdoor furniture and porch floor and also hose down underneath the truck and the truck itself. My neighbor has a gas power washer and I can probably use his for the more tougher stuff (like housing siding, gutters, driveway). I found this one electric one that has 1600psi and it's made by Karcher. Saw reviews and videos on it and there not bad. Also, I checked my local craigslist and I only found like 3 or 4 people that are selling theirs but, they want like 250 for one, 3 for the second and it goes up from there. I found a Honda one like you all are talking about and they want 500 firm. My max spending is 150 lol. So I don't know.

And would you recommend me buying one? I mean I did read some good reviews on them but there not perfect of course but I wouldn't mind trying it out.

I say the biggest thing to look for are these: 1) the interchangable tips, usually black, red, yellow, white. This way you have different types of sprays and if/when you loose them they are easily replaceable. 2) get one with a wand that you can buy parts for, usually these are metal type handles/wands that are in (2) pieces. I would also conisder picking up the quick disconnect fittings for both end of the hose, these are cheap and are really handy

The electric one I found has all that (besides the fittings), I would have to purchase that separately I think. But they do have interchangeable tips. The wand is not metal but does look sturdy to get the job done. I'm probably going out today after work and picking one up. Hey, if I don't like it or it doesn't perform like I wanted it to, I
ll just simply return it .

I picked up a refurbished one from Lowes after it had been fixed with whatever minor thing was wrong with it a couple years ago. It s a Troy Built 2500 PSI delivering 2.3 gpm with a honda engine with I got for $225.
