Use one applicator pad to apply it in a circular motion then use a micro fiber towel to wipe off

This stuff is AMAZING for a black truck. If you can borrow an orbital polisher/buffer to use the black rubbing compound that comes with it, it will remove almost all of the small swirl marks in the clear coat.. Mine came out looking like a completely different truck! I was stoked! AFTER spending 7 hours doing it..

I sent Turtlewax an email asking if more of the black wax would be available seperately, instead of buying an entire kit, and this is what they sent me:

"Glad to hear you love the Black Box! This is the first we've heard of someone needing more wax, it's usually the detailer. Send us your address and an email photo of you with your black truck after using black box and we'll send you more wax, detailer and a Black Box t-shirt!
Thanks."

Now that's appreciating your customers!!

Maybe I'm lazy but I use Meguirs quick detailer spray wax and I'm ok if my truck doesn't look like a show truck. Lol.

Works well for me and gives me a decent shine. Lol

I'd like to think my finish looks pretty good, but I'm always up for trying something new...

just to let you know (and I do this for a living) your wax job will only look as good as the surface you put it on. If your clear coat shows signs of damage (like scratches/swirls/oxidation/fall out/fade/ect.) your wax job will only emphasize those defects. You can use a cleaner wax or glaze which will hide some of the defects until you wash your car again, or you can prepare your surface by using a polish.... as far as best wax for black cars it's all in your opinion, but here are the two difference in waxes:
-synthetic/polymer waxes last (realistically) about 3-4 months. They have a very high mirror like shine, but lack depth in color
-synthetic sealants last about 5-6 months (when applied and cured properly, which is usually 4-8 hour curing time) and have the same finish as a synthetic wax
-carnuaba based waxes have a great depth and shine, but sometimes lack the brilliant mirror-like shine and usually last 2-3 months in the real world.

after I get the surfaced cleaned with a clay bar and polish, I like to use a sealant followed by a couple coats of a carnuaba based wax to get a brilliant shine. Hope this helps. For what it's worth, I don't like using filler products to hide imperfections because they will always come back.

As far as the Black Box wax from Turtlewax goes, the liquid rubbing compound really does minimize and remove a lot of the fine swirl marks in the clearcoat. It's not a whole lot different than wet sanding to remove orange peel. Just less abrasive. You should've seen my truck before using it. It was COVERED with minor scuffs literally everywhere. While buffing with the black liquid compound I spent extra time on the areas that had seen more abuse and a lot of the scratches/scuffs came out completely. Those that didn't were masked quite well with the black pigments.

As far as using a "filler product" goes, using any wax on your vehicle, it's gonna act as a filler on it's own. Especially if it's a traditional carnuba based paste wax. I say if you're gonna wax a black vehicle with scratches and chips then why use a white wax? The black pigment doesn't totally hide anything but it does help a great deal to disguise imperfections and doesn't accentuate scratches like many white waxes do.

Plus the previously mentioned customer appreciation that they displayed to me will keep me coming back for more of their product.

My 2 cents...
