I used to use pastes and liquids until I tried spray wax. I am currently using Teflon Spray Wax, and the speed it provides is really nice.
The other day I did my whole '10 Ranger in about 50 minutes; pastes and liquids make it a 2+ hour process. The light and even distribution of spray allows you to do a larger area faster.

I have to disagree with some folks about cleaner wax...a regular wax with cleaner strips your old layers, and I don't know about you guys, but I'm looking to preserve my old layers as long as possible. Waxing is hard work and I'd rather not urinate on that work if can avoid it.

Just an FYI, there is a coupon for a Free (w/rebate of course) container of an Eagle One Gel Wax in the latest issue of Road and Track.

Here is what I use:

The first step is to wash your truck with the gold class wash. Then dry it in the shade so the paint remains kool to the touch. Step number 2 is to apply one coat of the Zymol and let it get bone dry. Remove the zymol with a cotton terry towel. Then using the sponge provided, apply the Turtle Wax ICE and allow to dry to a haze. Buff it out by hand with the microfiber cloth (don't worry if it appears dull). Reapply the Zymol ONE SECTION AT A TIME. from where you applied the Turtle Wax ICE it will get bone dry before your eyes. Remove with a terry cotton cloth for a shine that will blind you. Mothers can't even match this, neither can Mequiars newest wax which starts at about $22.00 bucks a bottle. after all of these steps, the shine will last 18 months and nothing sticks to it.

It's excellent on black. I came up with it by accident when I spilled the 2 waxes. I tried it on my truck and I almost had an orgasim with the results. After I did this about all I had to do was hose it off and it lasted for 18 months (almost to the day). Not even mud stuck to it.

I know right. That was and is about the best wax I have ever used. Meguiras Gold Class wash is excellent for prepping the paint for a wax job. Zymol always makes me hungry when I use it though, because it smells like coconut.

Actually it's not that expensive anymore like it used to be. It goes for around $13.00 bucks now. When that photo was took it was around $17.00 bucks. The Turtlewax ICE dropped to about $15.00 bucks was $19.00 when I took the photo. Those are walmart's current prices. They'll probably go a little lower when summer gets here.

walmart's got some really good deals on meguiars products right now as we speak. They just got in a kit called the ultimate wash and wax kit. I bet that stuff is good cause it goes for $22.00 bucks per kit.

Yeah I plan on getting me some this summer. What I'm wanting to try is that new Meguiars wax they just come out with. The ultimate wax is what it's called.

cool, I'll have to look into getting some. I just hope it's easy to put on and to remove. Some of their stuff in the past was hard to remove once you put it on.
